What is CBD?

Cannabidiol, aka CBD, is one of more than 60 naturally occurring cannabinoid compounds found in the herbaceous flowering plant, Cannabis. CBD oil comes from an organic substance that is formed in the secretions of the plant. Hemp and marijuana are both forms of cannabis, so that does not always mean that cannabis is marijuana – cannabis is just the genus name that all forms of hemp and marijuana are categorized under. Up until recent times, THC (delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol) was the most studied and well-known cannabinoid because of its abundance in marijuana.  Lately, CBD has gained recognition in the media, and even more importantly in the scientific community, as the second most important cannabinoid found in marijuana and the top non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in hemp.
Different than THC, CBD does not produce a “high” feeling, and because of this has found legalization throughout the USA. Highly Amazing CBD Oils do not come from marijuana, but are derived from hemp, from crops that are grown legally in the United States. All of our CBD Oil products are certified and thoroughly lab tested for quality, safety, and cannabinoid content.
CBD is found in abundant amounts in our hemp oil which is packed with other nutrients as well! CBD Hemp Oil contains many other phytocannabinoids such as cannabichromene (CBC), cannabigerol (CBG), cannabinol (CBN), and cannabidivarin (CBCV). CBD Hemp Oil is also a great source of naturally occurring vitamins, amino acids, omegas, terpenes, and chlorophyl.

How Does CBD Work?

CBD interacts predominantly with the endocannabinoid system in the body, which is a grouping of millions of cannabinoid receptors that are found all throughout the body, and mostly in the brain and central nervous system. CBD is known as a phytocannabinoid (plant-based cannabinoid), but our bodies also produce cannabinoids naturally, which are known as endocannabinoids. The endocannabinoid system has four main purposes which include neuroprotection, immune response, stress relief, and regulating the body’s general state of balance. Overall, this impacts faculties such as your appetite, mood, sleep, and pain.

What are Terpenes?

Terpenes are organic compounds found in a variety of plants, which contribute to their flavor, scent and color. They are building blocks for essential oils and plant resins, and are often used in food additives, perfumes and aromatherapy, and some terpenes are even thought to have medicinal properties. The hemp plant, from which CBD comes, contains these non-psychoactive compounds which have anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties.
